Crested Owl - Tierra Huichol
$ 1,260.00 MXN
The Crested Owl is very distinctive and unlikely to be confused with any other owl. It can be found in both Central and South America. This hand-beaded owl statue was crafted by a Huichol artisan in the mountains of Central Mexico. Birds are regarded in Huichol culture as emissaries of the gods, delivering divine messages to shamans, and the owl is particularly revered for its wisdom and majesty. The colorful patterns are a rendering of the sacred peyote flower that inspires their religious visions, and because each piece in the Tierra Huichol store is totally unique, your product may differ slightly from the item pictured. Eagle Devouring Serpent - Tierra Huichol
$ 4,590.00 MXN
In pre-Hispanic mythology, it was said that the Aztecs received a message from the God of the Sun and War, Huitzilopochtli (blue hummingbird) to leave Aztlan, the place where they lived until then because it was necessary to find new land. In that place, they would find riches and they would gain power over other peoples. Huitzilopochtli sentenced that that promised land would be where an eagle was found on top of a cactus, devouring a snake. The Huichol goddess, Mother Eagle, Mother of the Sky and Queen of the Heavens, is embodied by the eagle, or Wealika. Wixarika Artisans beaded and decorate a handmade paper mache sculpture to symbolize that historic moment. Materials: Paper Maché, Beeswax & Glass Beads (Chaquira) Size: 20cm x 40cm x 36cm Receive a certificate signed by the Artist
